Wanniassa School Alumni

It’s great to recognise and acknowledge our vibrant history at Wanniassa School. Since the doors opened on our junior campus in 1976, followed by our Senior Campus in 1980 we have had approximately forty thousand students attend our school. To celebrate this fact, our school newsletter and website will now feature a Wanniassa Alumni profile to highlight the wonderful life journey of our past students through their narrative profiles. We hope this will further bring together our ‘village’ as we read about the experiences of our past students and what they have achieved over the years.

We saw it fitting to have Nick Bond as our first Alumni for this newsletter. He is a valued member of our Junior Campus staff and his commitment in becoming a teacher that will make a difference in student’s lives has always been the focus for Nick. Even when I taught him at Wanniassa Senior Campus ‘some’ time ago.

Tell us about the time at Wanniassa School as a student and teacher: I came to Wanniassa in Year three from Sydney in 1990 and finished Year 6 in 1993. High School from 1994 – 1997. Returned as an LSA in 2000-01. Then returned once again as a classroom teacher in 2010.

What College did you attend after Wanniassa School? Erindale College Why did you want to become a teacher? I can’t say there was any one event that made me want to become a teacher. It was just something I always wanted to be.

Other interests: I am a strength and conditioning coach at Phoenix Combat Sports Gym. I have 2 dogs Thor and Lady who I love dearly. I have been to Canada 6 times and would love to live there for a while.
