Wanniassa Alumni

CALLING ALL ALUMNI of Wanniassa School

If you are a past student of Wanniassa School, or of the former Wanniassa Primary or Wanniassa High, we would love to hear from you!

From time to time, past students contact us to thank us for how the school helped them achieve their goals/ reach their potential/gain employment etc. Some have spoken of their experiences since leaving school and shared these at the annual awards presentation morning. Others just want to know how they can “give something back” to this great community school.

Some come back to teach with us, having gained their teaching qualifications. We currently have not one or two but SIX ex-students who teach here, both on the Junior and the Senior Campuses! And still others bring their own children into the fold – we have many preschool and primary-aged children of past students who now attend.

This all adds up to Wanniassa School continuing its tradition of being a vibrant community school where students are encouraged to EXCEL and take every OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED.

We welcome all forms of support, including donations made to the school to help us meet the educational needs of all students, to improve our learning spaces and provide many more resources, especially in our rapidly changing digital world.

CONTACT US at info@wans.act.edu.au or arrange a visit by ringing 6205 6200 (Senior Campus) or 6205 7566 (Junior Campus) if you have ideas to assist us in any practical way you can.

HELP US MAKE WANNIASSA SCHOOL A TECHNOLOGY STRONG SCHOOL IN THE DIGITAL AGE*
*Donations to the Wanniassa School Library Trust Fund (for books, iPads, laptops, IT accessories)) are tax deductible.

Federal Education Minister Mr Peter Garrett with Wanniassa Students

Natalie Guilfoyle, Chelsea Wells and Chris Johnson met with the Federal Education Minister Mr Peter Garrett and Ms Viv White, CEO of Big Picture Education Australia at Parliament House on Monday 13 May. They met for 40 minutes in the Minister’s office, and covered a range of topics including Big Picture Learning, the Australian Curriculum, Learning Through Internships and of course music (Chris’ project/Mr Garrett’s passion). A wonderful experience indeed for the students, and it included lunch at Parliament House!

Welcome to the Wanniassa School Website

Wanniassa School has built a reputation for having a diverse, vibrant, energetic community by encouraging families as partners in learning.

We are proud to recommend our school as a place where all students are able to learn and play within a happy, safe and caring environment, from Preschool to Year 10. The individual care and attention that we give our students in the vital formative years is the key to the growing success of our school.

The campuses are separated by a short walk through a beautiful stand of gum trees and opportunities for cross campus learning opportunities are proactively explored.
